Dr Pepper Ribs!!

I found this recipe in a book called Cook This, Not That. The best part was an overnight brine consisting of a 2 liter of Dr Pepper and 1/4 cup of salt. The salt will pull the water out of the ribs and allow the soda to go in. I let the ribs sit in the brine overnight. Curtis pulled the pan and drained the brine. Cover the bottom of the pan with water and bake for two hours at 325. Throw them on the grill at medium heat for 10 mins a side. We also made the Dr. Pepper sauce but we liked the meat plain without sauce. Here are a couple pics of our conquests!

Skyla's Dedication

This weekend Curtis and I attended a small, informal service put on by Chris and Deb, Curtis's brother and sister-in-law. They wanted to proclaim, in front of family and friends, that they wanted to raise Skyla, 8 months, in a Christian home. We sang a few songs, the family shared stories and advise for the new family, and we prayed for their marriage and home. It was beautiful. Tears were shed by everyone. Way to go Mrs. Cottle! We had burgers, venison sausages, veggies, and everyones fav, mango salsa! Yum! Too bad the rain made for a loud, slow ride home.

Phone signal was rare. Terry shows off his ability to connect.

Self-Diagnosis

I have recently diagnosed myself with post move-in depression. I've got this funky mood that I think would be lifted after some decorating. After consulting my best friend, professional decorator and world traveler, Lauren Outcalt, I looked at a few decor magazines for a little inspiration. Here's what I've got to work with. Let me know what you think!
